My Social Media Audit

This is all about me! (Well… digitally speaking) In this page we created a Visitor/Resident map in order to chart how we personally interact with social media and how we use certain apps/social media sites for different aspects of our life. Also included in this section is a personal audit on my social media usage and how I feel that I present myself on my individual social channels. At the bottom of the page you will find my LinkedIn statement as well as a link to my page, should you want to take a look!

James: "A lot of pictures with other people makes me feel like you are a very friendly person and that people enjoy your company. The fact that you crop your images on your instagram page gives a very trendy/mod look to your profile. As far as your google search a lot of it gets lost in the images of the famous Ashlee Simpson."

Casey: "I'd say funny, sporty, and creative. You're not too easy to find on google because of Ashlee Simpson but that could work in your favor."

I think that one of the biggest things I've learned in completing this map is how little I am actually involved in social media in the broad scope of vast social media apps available in today's age. I am lucky to have learned at a particularly young age in my professional career the access that my employers have to my social networks and I think that has greatly affected how I interact with social media. In working with a communications team at Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, all of our personal social media channels had to be linked to content we created for the company and that put a large spot light on everything that was on our own social channels. I believe that from that experience I have picked very selectively what channels I interact on, and how I decide to interact on them.

When it comes to my brand both online and on social media, I'd like to think that I keep things fairly consistent across my platforms. However, there are particular platforms that I interact with slightly differently in order to fulfil different needs and interests. This is prominent in my usage of Pinterest. This social sight allows me to find things that I am interested across the board from fashion ideas, to recipes, to pictures that inspire me, etc. One of the biggest differences with this site is the fact that none of the content that I interact with on Pinterest is my own, unlike Facebook or Instagram. When it comes to my personal brand I try to express myself as a young creative college student who is interested in sports, communications, music, family and friends. I try to showcase myself as a mature, yet down to earth, genuine person and my goal on social media is to keep that same brand in tact while consciously deciding what information I would like to share with my followers and to those who come across my profile.
